How many of us are still waiting to feel completely ready before we make a change?
Interview Introduction: I’ve been thinking about that since my conversation with Serene Grace, because her answer to it was so refreshingly practical. Serene spent almost ten years working in law firms and the state judiciary, then another decade as a federal employee in Washington, D.C. Steady work. Serious work. The kind of career a lot of people would never dream of walking away from. Alongside it, quietly, she was studying, practicing and building something else. Her intuitive gifts had been with her since she was three. At 25 a spiritual awakening asked her to stop ignoring them.
What struck me was how she made the leap. She didn’t jump on a whim, and she didn’t wait for certainty either. She sat down and asked herself where she wanted to be in one year, three years, five years. She worked out how she’d keep paying the bills while the new path grew. She described it as structure plus a little bit of faith.
She was honest that she didn’t have all the answers. She just had enough of a plan to begin. So many of the coaches and healers I work with have a version of this story. A first career that looks completely unrelated, until you realize it gave them the skills, the discipline or the backbone they rely on now.

She also shared the one message she ends up giving every client, whether they come to her about relationships, career or spirituality. It’s simple, and it landed with me more than I expected.
